July 30 Release

A follow-up release focused on getting list ordering right, plus a faster way to add a customer you do not have yet. Several small display problems in the ticket view and knowledge base were cleaned up at the same time.

Highlights

  1. ๐Ÿ‘ค Create a customer without leaving the ticket. The Change Customer flow can now add someone who is not in CougarDesk yet.
  2. ๐Ÿ”ข My Tickets is ordered the way it says it is. The label and the actual sort now agree, on both the list and the dashboard widget.
  3. ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Image-only comments can be posted. The Add button no longer requires you to type text alongside an image.
  4. ๐Ÿ”— Customer names in search results link to the right place instead of a not-found page.
  5. ๐Ÿ“Š View counts are accurate when switching views. No more momentary 0 on a view that is not empty.

โœจ New Features

  1. Create a new customer from the Change Customer flow. If the person a ticket should belong to is not in CougarDesk yet, you can now create them in place rather than leaving the ticket. Matching an existing customer requires an exact email match, so you will not silently attach a ticket to the wrong person, and a search that fails now says so instead of reading as "nobody matches".

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Improvements & Fixes

Lists and sorting

  1. My Tickets is now actually ordered the way its label says. Previously it read "Newest First" while sorting by most recently updated.
  2. The My Tickets dashboard widget is ordered the same way as the list it represents, so the two no longer disagree.
  3. A sort applied from a link or bookmark is honored rather than rewritten, and a sort the page does not recognize is labeled "Custom" instead of being mislabeled as the default.
  4. Switching between views no longer briefly shows a count of 0 for a view that is not empty.

Tickets and comments

  1. A comment containing only an image can now be posted. The Add button no longer requires accompanying text.
  2. The collapsed message preview no longer overflows its area when the window is resized.
  3. The page guide now follows the tab you are actually looking at rather than the queue behind it.
  4. In dark mode, content is no longer left hidden if the theme pass is slow to settle.

Search and knowledge base

  1. Customer names in search results now link to the correct customer instead of a not-found page.
  2. The knowledge base and public pages now show the paw mark rather than the letter "A".

Reliability

  1. Fixed a caching problem where a partial page fragment could be painted as though it were the whole page.

โš™๏ธ For Administrators

These changes affect the admin area only.

  1. Minutes are now available as a duration unit in workflow age and duration conditions, alongside the existing longer units. Useful for rules that should act well inside the first hour.
  2. New feature-duration reporting on /admin/analytics, broken down by team, showing how long common actions take in practice. Reply, macro, and report timings feed it.
